Migrating herons
April 26, 2026
There is a flock of herons here in the village.

They are migrating herons, returning from Africa after the winter.

They look pretty cool on top of the hotel.

But also a little bit scary, there being so many of them.

We built a bridge over the stream in the Barranc de Riberies.
Boí pulled out this big log.

Boí admiring his work.

Saoirse tested the load-bearing qualities of the bridge.

Papa helped by taking photos.

On the way back home again.

We saw this little yellow salamander in the garden.

The kids have been practising a lot at the skatepark.

On all kinds of equipment.

Saoirse is learning by watching Pau.

Boí is getting really good at this.

We spend hours and hours here these days, particularly since the weather is getting nicer.

Cruising around the skatepark.

Boí learning how to jump on the patinet.
Pau teaching Saoirse how to go down the ramp on the skateboard.
Saoirse took part in the schools’ singing extravaganza.
That’s her in the middle behind the guitar player.

She’s in between Riu (a different Riu) and Ares.

She wasn’t very attentive. Here she is looking at Ares instead of concentrating.

Now she’s doing it right.

We had some more adventures with Granny. First we all had to jump into the van.

Riu and Nicola at the ziplining.

All the cousins with Granny.

Ben getting all the safety gear on for the ziplining.

Pau is ready as well.

Saoirse going across a big, scary bridge.

Connie and Riu high above the lake.

Boí safely back on the ground at the end of the circuit.

Everybody back at the river in Yeti.

Boí reading his new book.

We all went out for dinner at the Hostal Noguera.

Riu took a group selfie.
